Consider This: Paul, the Learned Apostle

Often times, people will refer back to and confirm their beliefs by what Paul says. Some, I have noticed, even seem to use and refer back to him more often than to the words of Yashua or God. Some people even believe the words of Paul over the words of God! Unbelievable, right? Not so much as you may think. In fact, it's likely you may, unconsciously or not, be doing the same thing.

Peter warned the people in his day about the writings of Paul; "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which those that are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the
rest of the Scriptures.  "You therefore, beloved, since you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the
wicked." (2 Pet. 3:16-17 NKJV) What Peter said is quite true.

Paul was a learned man, having studied at the feet of a great rabbi (teacher), Gamaliel. Being the most zealous of his peers and having the Torah memorized at a young age, Paul was a very intelligent Pharisee. The apostle's wise words are hard for simple believers (like us) to understand. They can seem to say something that completely contradicts what he meant.  The wicked, ever wanting to divert our beliefs, can easily twist the words and tell you that in Scripture Paul declares that the laws and words of God no longer apply, while pointing to their twisted versions of the apostle's writings.

If you look closely at the passages that seem to indicate this, dig up their Hebrew meaning and you may find that what you thought he said is not always the case. Even if Paul's words contradicted those of God, who would you believe, God or Paul?
Interesting? I hope so.

Consider This: Verse of the Month.
2 Pet. 3:16-17
My own thoughts on this verse are:
(1) We must watch out for any 'who are untaught and unstable who twist to their own destruction' the words of Paul.
(2) We shouldn't accept as truth anyone's interpretation or version of the Word unless we've
researched it and found it to be true.
